Two weeks ago we were out in the desert for the first part of our Spring Break. After I ran a 10k and got first in my age bracket, we loaded up our trailer and went! I just love our trailer! It's so nice to just load everything up and head out. We got there around dinner time, so we barbecued some meat we had leftover to make carne asada tacos. They turned out really yummy! After dinner, I bathed the boys and we sent the kids to bed. Since the next day was Sunday, we decided to head up to Tehachapi and stay with Erik and Cristin for the day. We went to their ward and then had lunch and dinner with them! Thanks you guys! We also got to see Amelia for the first time. She is such a good and smiley baby! Monday came around and poor Jeremy was starting to feel a bit crummy. It could've been that we weren't sleeping in our nice bed. The beds in the trailer aren't super comfortable. They aren't bad, but we are used to sleeping on a very cushy bed! He was able to get the kids outfitted in all their gear, thanks to some friends that gave us their hand-me-downs and took photos of them. Except Scotty who isn't quite big enough to ride on his own yet. The other three, however, after their photos, just took off on the bikes! They each had their own and were nonstop! They LOVE to ride! Even though Jeremy wasn't feeling that well, he said that all his dreams came true because his kids love to ride dirt bikes! We went on a few family rides, which was so nice! The three older kids riding by themselves, Scotty in his Nana's buggy and Jeremy and I on our own bikes. This was probably our best trip yet! We loved being all together and enjoying the campfires, reading Harry Potter and eating! We also loved being with Nana and Pappy, too. Nana had the "Easter bunny" come early and the kids were excited about hunting for eggs in the nearby snake holes and chaparral bushes. I love going out at this time of year because it usually is less dirty then Thanksgiving and less people! There was grass everywhere which kept the dust down and I don't think we ran into anyone else out there. It was a little bit of heaven! Who knew the desert could be like that!
